STARTING TOMORROW!!! Did you know its Village Halls week this week? #VillageHallsWeek is a national annual campaign, shining a spotlight on the contribution England’s 10,000+ village halls make to rural communities. The annual week long celebration, organised by ACRE and the ACRE Network (England’s largest network of rural community support organisations), aims to raise the profile of village and community halls across the country, and is a big collective “thank you” to all the volunteers who work tirelessly to keep them open for the benefit of local residents, groups and rural businesses. This year’s Village Halls Week will run from Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd March and the theme is connecting communities to health and wellbeing. Village Halls are at the heart of rural life, playing a vital role in keeping people healthy, active, and connected. By providing spaces for exercise, social clubs, health sessions, and peer support, they help prevent isolation and promote wellbeing at every stage of life. At Greyfriars, we believe we have a wealth of wonderful resources to keep you physically and mentally healthy—from exercise classes for all ages to our famous book sale, which provides great mental stimulation. We also have a preschool where children aged 2.5 to 4 years old learn on a daily basis. With so many different activities happening every single day, we are proud to serve our fabulous community. Why not take a look at our Newsletter to find out what's on, or check out our website... https://greyfriarsringwood.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/March-26-ISSUE-69-Final.pdf

𝑬𝒎𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 Embracing Light is a monthly gathering shaped by the rhythms of sun, moon, seasons and earth, offering a slow, grounded pause from everyday life; a space to reconnect with your body, breath, and inner world, within a small community that grows through regular practice. Sessions include gentle movement, breathwork, meditation, reflective writing, silence, and shared stories: working with what is present, allowing clarity, calm, and self-knowing to emerge naturally. This is deeper than a class, gentler than therapy & rooted in seasonal living & presence. ✨Starting Saturday 21 March, 10-30 - 13:30pm. ✨Email yolanda@lettingthelight.in to be on the mailing list.
Join the ever popular and welcoming course at Greyfriars and discover the rich history and repertoire of this much-loved musical form. Across ten weekly classes, expert tutor Ian Lowes will guide participants from the quartet’s classical beginnings through to contemporary works, offering insight, listening examples and lively discussion along the way. Sessions take place on Mondays from 10:00am to 12:00pm, running from 13 April to 22 June 2026, excluding 25 May. The full course fee is £90. Whether you are a seasoned enthusiast or simply curious, all are warmly invited to attend. Book your place via the link below:
Add the date to your diary! Step into spring with a bit of adventure! Enter our Walking Treasure Hunt around the streets of Ringwood, solving clues set by our resident historian, Mary Baldwin, on Sunday 12 April, starting from Greyfriars at 2pm. Enjoy a fun afternoon of sleuthing before returning to Greyfriars for a well‑earned cream tea. Tickets are available now from the Centre or via TicketSource: £8 for adults and £4 for children, including the cream tea. This is a Greyfriars fundraiser, so your support really does make a difference. Bring family, bring friends, and enjoy a cheerful spring outing filled with curiosity, community, and a delicious treat at the end!
Just a little reminder that on a Monday, the community fridge located in the library is closed. This means we have all the bread & bakery products come to US on a Monday morning. Please do pop into the centre to grab yourself a treat as it does make us sad if they go to waste. Thank you, The Greyfriars Team 🍞
‼️‼️URGENT REMINDER‼️‼️ We would normally ask you to have your content to us by the second Monday of the month ( which is today ). But this month we have extended the deadline to next Monday, March 16. If you could please send any content you wish to include for April over to our email address: office@greyfriarsringwood.org.uk
A request! We are looking for an electric piano to replace the piano in Ann Rose Hall please. Are you downsizing or do you just not use yours…would you like to donate it to Greyfriars? We have one or two groups that need a piano but as the hall is used a lot our piano is moved in and out. Firstly, it is very heavy and so not ideal to move around but apparently this is not healthy once we have had it tuned as the bumping up and down are not good for its health! If you can help, please pop us an email on office@greyfriarsringwood.org.uk. 🎹Thank you.🎹
