Orchestral songs became an important vehicle for Romantic composers in the 19th and 20th centuries covering a vast range of topics and emotions. Join Ian Lowes and explore the marriage of voice and orchestra through well known and less familiar works of Berlioz, Strauss, Mahler, Elgar, Sibelius and Korngold. Ian Lowes has presented music appreciation classes for over 40 years for both Arts in Residence and Oxford Summer Schools. He currently delivers weekly classes for Dorset Rural Music School in both Ringwood and Bridport. Tickets are £30 and include coffee and lunch. For your information!!! Drop-in DIGITAL Surgery @ Ringwood Library. If you need help with your digital devices, this is where to come. They help with mobile phones, tablets, laptops etc. Tuesday afternoons 2pm - 3::30pm or Thursday mornings 9:45am - 11:15am. As these are drop-in sessions you may have to wait for a little while.
