It is with real sadness that we announce the end of Moviola film screenings at Greyfriars. Due to rising costs and dwindling attendance, we are no longer able to host these events. Last year, we lost money on all but one showing, and several had to be cancelled altogether. We want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who has supported our film nights over the decades. Special appreciation goes to Christina and Tony at Moviola, their dedicated projectionists, and the many volunteers who gave up their evenings and weekends to make these events possible. This is not just a local story – many community cinemas are facing similar challenges. But we remain proud of the memories made and the sense of togetherness these evenings brought to Greyfriars. Thank you for being part of it.
