Healthy Walks for September

Here is the timetable for the Healthy Walks remaining in September.

Join us for some interesting, free walks in The New Forest area. Friday morning walks generally last for 60-90 minutes and are led by qualified leaders. Meet on Fridays by 10.20 am at the following locations, for a 10.30 am start.

 

Some of the walks can be challenging, so please call in advance to ensure your choice is suitable.

06/09/24. Turf Hill & Hale Purlieu – Turf Hill car park off B3080 Nearest Post Code SP5 2PU Largely Flat circular walk with spectacular views over moorland on good tracks. Can be wet. Free parking. Refreshments at Fighting Cocks pub in Godshill (01425 652462)

13/09/24. A circular walk around Fordingbridge – Meet at Frog Lane Fordingbridge (a track road just past St Mary’s Parish Church). Park on the road opposite called Mulberry Gardens. Led by Jan Brian, many thanks to Jan. Refreshments – Café in the Park or Riverside Tea Gardens in Salisbury Street.

20/09/24. Linford Bottom – Car Park Post Code BH24 3HU. A circular walk-through the woods which is largely flat. Can be muddy when wet. Refreshments at the London Tavern in Poulner (01425 473819)

27/09/24. Rockford & Ibsley Commons via Appleslade – Appleslade car park Post Code BH24 3LX A circular walk with 2 steep ascents. It’s a mixture of woodland and open spaces, mostly on good tracks. Free parking. Refreshments at the Red Shoot Inn (01425 473789)

Just turn up and go.

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome. All walks are at your own risk. We strongly recommend that you wear walking shoes/boots as paths can be muddy after rain. No need to book, just turn up, register & go. Contact Phil or phone Jan on 07737 688523.
