Chopin: the pianist, as composer and performer

Join us for a full-day exploration of the life and music of Frédéric Chopin, one of the most poetic and influential figures in piano history.

Chopin wrote some of the most seductively beautiful music ever composed for the piano. Although he died before his 40th birthday, he left more than 230 keyboard works — including much-loved Nocturnes, Waltzes, Polonaises, and Mazurkas.

This Music Day School will investigate the vast range of his piano music, exploring Chopin as a performer, composer, and innovator, and placing his work in a contemporary context.

📅 Saturday 31 January
⏰ 10.00am – 3.30pm
💷 £30.00 (including coffee & light lunch)

As Charles Rosen wrote of Chopin:

“His poetic genius was based on a professional technique that was without equal in his generation.”

🎟 Tickets available at Greyfriars and via Ticket Source. HERE –

Perfect for piano lovers and anyone keen to deepen their understanding of one of music’s great masters.
